RE: Looking for Beautiful Northeast campground

We stayed at Calumet in West Ossipee, NH. It is Lutheran conference center that has a family campground. I'm not sure when the Calumet campground closes for the season but there are several other campgrounds in the surrounding area that have gotten good reviews. Story Land is open weekends through Columbus Day and is about 45 minutes from West Ossipee. I think your kids would love it, my 4 & 6 year old did. Website: Calumet

RE: Campground near Sesame Place?

If you search on "Sesame Place" there are several posts that may answer your question. When we went several years ago we stayed at Boulder Woods in Quakertown PA.

RE: Campgound Shortfall

We were in Cleveland a couple of weeks ago and stayed at the Streetsboro/Cleveland SE KOA. It is about 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland.

RE: Cleveland Ohio

We were in Cleveland two weeks ago and stayed at the Cleveland SE KOA in Streetsboro. We were about 30 to 45 minutes from down town Cleveland, Rock Hall area, via the freeway. Proved very convenient for where we wanted to be.

RE: Cleveland OH - Place to Camp/Park

We just got back from visiting family in metro Cleveland and stayed at Streetsboro/Cleveland SE KOA on State Route 303 in Streetsboro. Is approxamately 32 mikes to Jacobs Field. This is our second visit to this campground and would return again, was very centrally located for us.

RE: Cool your fridge/freezer BEFORE you leave

I turn ours on two or three days before we leave and set the temp selector on 5, the highest. We load the food the morning we leave and then set the temp to 2 and switch it to DC which we use during travel. Works fine for us,

RE: Tips for RVing with kids

When Our now grown sons were younger they always wanted to have their bikes when in campgrounds. They would ride around the campground for for hours meeting other people their own age. They carried walkie talkies and also cruised through our sight and checked in every couple of hours.

RE: Campgrounds in Hershey, PA

At this point if I wanted to go to Hershey Park I would take the site at KOA. I have stayed at many KOA's and have never had a problem.

RE: How do you jack up a trailer?

I use a 12 ton bottle jack, under $40.00 including 5% MA sales tax at Sears. My Owners manual says jack on the frame, not the axle and this works great.

RE: Next stop, SW Maine and White Mountains

Several people have mentioned Danforth Bay, but unless you have children I would pass and go to one of the others recommended. From my one time at Danforth Bay we found it geared more to families and seasonals with some roving packs of unsupervised teenagers. If I am looking for a campground to serve as a base of operations I would not sty at Danforth Bay. Danforth Bay is a very well run and clean campground but just wasn't our cup of tea.

RE: Battery Not Charging

How about the fuse on the charging wire, there should be a 30 amp fuse close to the battery, if it is bad your battery will not charge.

RE: Battery Chrg while Towing - Why doesn't it work???

I know the OP said he had voltage at the TV connector, so this does not apply here but in addition to the 30 AMP fuse for the charging circuit some vehicles also have a relay too. My 2001 Expedition was not charging the trailer battery, fuse was there but the full height relay was missing. Bought the relay from my Ford Dealer and it now works fine.

RE: Cape Cod Campgropund suggestions please

Two others are Peters Pond in Sandwich, which is close to the canal, and Sweetwater Forest in Brewster which is Mid Cape. Since she is considered an extra adult by the campground you are going to have to pay extra for the 18 year old daughter. Keep in mind that the traffic can be very heavy during June, July and August so if you stay anywhere along the canal you are going to spend most of your time in heavy traffic if you want to see other parts of the Cape. By the way Sweetwater Forest is very convenient to the Cape Cod Rail Trail if your family is into biking. Websites: Peters Pond Sweetwater Forest PS: We have stayed at both and would return.

RE: Ohio to Rhode Island?

What part of RI are you headed to, there is major construction on I-95 just South of Providence. Locally it is referred to as the "Iway", a lot of stop and go traffic.
